Short Information
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has released the GATE 2027 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Information Brochure. GATE 2027 is a national-level entrance examination conducted jointly by the IITs and IISc on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB-GATE), Ministry of Education, Government of India. GATE scores are used for admission to M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./Ph.D. programmes, financial assistance in higher education, and recruitment by several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will open on 14 August 2026. Candidates should read the complete Information Brochure before applying online.

Age Limit & Eligibility
- No Minimum or Maximum Age Limit for appearing in GATE 2027.

- Candidates who have completed or are currently studying in the 3rd year or higher of any undergraduate degree program, or have already completed a Government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities are eligible to apply.

How to Apply
- Visit the GATE 2027 GOAPS portal.
- Register using a valid Email ID and Mobile Number.
- Fill in the online application form.
- Upload the required documents.
- Select one or up to two papers (as per the permitted combinations).
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the application form and download the confirmation page.
