4. There is no separate written examination / CBT for this Act Apprentice engagement.
5. Apprenticeship engagement is for training and does not automatically provide regular/permanent employment in Indian Railways.

📄 Job Description

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released Centralized Notification No. NFR/NAPS/ACT APP./2026 for engagement of Act Apprentices for the training cycles 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
A total of 6,777 apprenticeship training slots are available across various divisions, workshops and units of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Eligible candidates can apply online from 20 July 2026 at 09 : 00 AM to 19 August 2026 at 05:30 PM.
Educational Qualification :
For most notified trades, candidates should have passed Class 10th / Matriculation with at least 50% aggregate marks and possess the relevant ITI / National Trade Certificate from NCVT/SCVT.
For specified Medical Laboratory Technician trade, candidates should have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Age Limit :
Minimum Age : 15 Years.
Maximum Age : 24 Years as on 19 August 2026.
Applicable age relaxation will be provided as per Railway rules.
Application Fee :
General / OBC / EWS Male : ₹100/-.
SC / ST / PwBD / EBC / Female Candidates : No Fee.
Selection Process :
Selection is based on the prescribed merit criteria followed by document verification and applicable medical fitness requirements.
Important :
This is apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and is NOT a regular/permanent Railway appointment.
